With over 950 remix submissions, Louie Vega and the team over at Nervous Records have selected the top three tracks from the challenge.
With a storied, three-decade history of releasing some of the world’s most beloved dance floor tunes, Nervous Records is unquestionably one of house music’s most influential record labels. Grand Prize Winner: Cee ElAssaad
Congratulations to Moroccan DJ/Producer Cee ElAssaad for taking home the grand prize for the Louie Vega remix contest! His winning track will be released via Nervous Records later this year.
The rapidly rising DJ/producer has been bringing his astonishing anthems to the world for over ten years now. He got his start as a bedroom DJ, eventually going on to tour the world through his craft. He’s always respected the greats and has meticulously studied his profession to a near science. The artist cites Larry Levan, David Mancuso, Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles and François K as some of his biggest idols. All his hard work and studying has paid off, with him signing to a number of legendary labels, including Stereo Productions, Ibadan Records, Connected Frontline, Tribe Records, and King Street Sounds, just to name a few.
Speaking about the winning track, Nervous Records had this to say: “We loved Cee ElAssaad’s remix and decided to choose it as the #1 winner. ‘How He Works’ is initially rooted in a gospel theme, and out of over 950 remixes, Cee ElAssaad was the only one to not only translate that effectively into a top-tier remix but added the musicality to match. A job well done!”
