Swedish dance floor favorite Ida Engberg prepares for her Ibiza residency at Club Chinois this summer with some choice selects for Beatport’s Playlist of the Week.
Nothing I love more than music in the summertime. I’ve curated this playlist for my upcoming Ibiza residency, Mystik. These songs bring back special memories on the island and some tracks I just can’t simply live without.
I hope they resonate with you as much as they do with me and that they become the soundtrack to your most special moments this summer. Grab your crew, tune into the playlist, and hopefully, I’ll see you on the dance floor this summer – Ida x
Jobe – Equinox [Unfound Sounds]
I stumbled upon Jobe’s track “Suddenly I’m Falling,” and it became a regular in all my sets. Ended up grabbing his entire catalog because his talent shines through in his deep, hypnotic, and trippy vibes.
Fabrizio Mammarella, Lauer – Altalenanti (Radio Slave Remix) [Permenent Vacation]
This one of those long records that just gets better every minute and you just get completely sucked into it. It’s trippy and when played at the right time it’s such a vibe… I’m a huge Radio Slave fan.
Ida Engberg – Tribute to Orange Clouds [MOOD]
I put together this track with all my all-time favorites in mind, taking me on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The dance floor loves it and so do I. I’m thrilled that it got signed to Nicole Moudaber‘s label. I absolutely adore her.
Jon Gurd – Emergence (Ida Engberg Remix) [Anjunadeep]
Maybe one of the most emotional records I have ever made. Jon Gurd is such a talented producer and I’m so grateful to have got to remix his track. I played it as one of the closing tracks of my sets so many times and it’s always a beautiful feeling.
Lindstrom – I Feel Space [Feedelity Recordings]
Another all-time favorite classic. Preferably at an after-party or intimate setting with friends.
Nathan Fake – Outhouse [Border Community]
This is one of those songs that I believe set the tone for an era. It’s so special and still feels timeless.
Extrawelt – Soopertrack [Border Community]
I wanted to make this chart about music that inspired me so much over the years. Music that makes me want to play music for the rest of my life, music that stopped time and music that never gets old.
Gui Boratto – Arquipelago [Kompakt]
This one I might have the most fun after-party memories too… From sitting with five people listening to music for 10 hours to dancing at Space in Ibiza at noon…
GHEIST – River [Embassy One]
I listen to this song when I drive my car and it makes me love life and to live in the countryside of Ibiza. Music that makes you feel that way definitely should be shared.
The MFA – The Difference It Makes (Superpitcher Mix) [Kompakt]
I remember playing this one at Panorama Bar when I was pregnant… It was my last event where I was allowed to travel before due date. It was such a moment when they opened the windows and the sun shined on the dancefloor. Maybe one of the most beautiful moments of my life. The vibe in that room was pure love.
Ida Engberg – Disco Volante (Sebastien Leger Remix) [Lektroluv]
While taking a stroll down memory lane, Disco Volante happened. After spending a magical summer in Ibiza in 2006, my boyfriend and I sat in the studio and this song came to life. It debuted at Grodan Cocktail Club in Stockholm, where John Dahlbäck approached me, asking to sign it. I suggested Sebastien Leger for the remix, inspired by my love for Gazebo. It became a massive hit in Holland and Belgium, leading to my first international gigs. I haven’t played it since 2008, but who knows? Maybe one day, it’ll make a comeback…
Jono Ma, Dreems – A Love Trance Mission From Nk To 7S [Kompakt]
It’s a 15 min journey that’s almost Pink Floyd-like. It’s an absolute masterpiece of a record in my eyes. I played it in the desert outside of San Francisco as the last record and it was so beautiful. One of those you could sit and just listen to at an after-party too. It’s simply very special.
