We catch up with DJs Moisees and Theus Mago to learn more about their prominent Latin American indie-dance imprint, Duro — Beatport’s Hype Label of the Month.
Mexico’s underground scene has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years, in part thanks to the hard work from cutting-edge imprints like that of Duro. Teaming up in 2015 to start this wholly unique label endeavor, Moisees and Theus Mago created Duro to help amplify the wealth of fascinating techno and indie-dance sounds from burgeoning talent in Latin America, such as Tyu, Bufi, Iñigo Vontier and Bruha. Since then, their artist roster has expanded into Asia, Europe, and the US, bringing on acts like Etcha, Dominik Marz, Switchdance, Rigopolar, and more. Earning itself a wealth of support from heavyweights like Âme, Jennifer Cardini, Dixon, and Solomon, Duro’s locomotive and cool-to-the-core discography has a wealth of dance floor gems that will not disappoint.
