Tech house kingpin Fisher reaches Beatport’s overall top spot for the third time this year with his latest track, “Yeah The Girls.”
Congratulations on your new Beatport #1, “Yeah The Girls!” How are you celebrating?
THANK YOU! I had a show the day it went to number 1, so we had a few shots at the gig and an epic dinner to follow. Was great!
This is your third Beatport #1 of 2022, following “Palm Beach Banga” and “World Hold On.” Quite an achievement! How does that make you feel?
AMAZING! It’s been a great year and an epic summer for my releases, and I’m over the moon about it. For me, it’s actually been one of the best years I’ve had for music. I couldn’t have done all of this without my team and the fans that have bought the records and supported them, so thank you.
Any plans to try and land a fourth Beatport #1 track before the end of the year?
Hahaha, let’s see!!!
How did you get linked up with the vocalist, MERYLL?
Meryll sent the vocal over to my team, and when I heard it, I was like, “wow.” It all happened so naturally with the track. It came together so smoothly, and that’s not always the case! So this was magic from the start. YTG WAS MEANT TO BE!
Can you tell us about the single’s artwork?
Brett, my manager, sent the idea over to me to have all our mates on the cover. Just a bunch of photos from our summer with everyone on the road. I was like, “that looks epic! My wife and all our mates are on the cover of YTG, because… why not!
Summer is just about over, and you’ve had a busy one! Any event/festival highlights you want to tell us about?
Well, there have been some of the most amazing moments this year, and ones I’ll never forget. This has been the best summer of my life! My Ibiza residency at Hi is a dream come true, and it has been everything I could have asked for and more. I pinch myself every time I think about what has been going on in that gaff this summer. That club is so special, and the crew that works there makes it such an awesome experience for me. I enjoy seeing the staff there every week; they are the best. And then there is the crowd. People go there to get down and have a good time. The energy in that place is insane. It’s unmatched!
Festival-wise, there were so many great shows, but for me, KAPPA FESTIVAL was my highlight. I have never seen anything like that. The energy, the cheers, the stage, it’s just a combination of awesomeness! The Italians come to party, and they make you wanna give them everything you’ve got. I’ve never seen people dance that hard for house music, it was insane…
Anything else that is on the horizon for Catch & Release this year?
I have a few parties coming up for the label that I really enjoy doing. Some great releases from other artists as well. I also have some music I wanna release before the end of the year, so we are busy over at Catch & Release.
