Adam Beyer welcomes rising techno star Eli Brown to the Drumcode family.
Bristol’s unstoppable dance floor figurehead Eli Brown makes his much-anticipated debut on Adam Beyer‘s techno institution, Drumcode, with his fresh Deep Down EP.
This isn’t the UK DJ/producer’s first run-in with Beyer. He released on Drumcode’s sub-label Trusoul in 2019 alongside Will Clarke with their collaborative Our Love EP. But since then, Eli Brown’s prominence in techno circles worldwide has skyrocketed, releasing full-throttle tracks on widely respected labels like Filth On Acid, We Are The Brave, Trick, Factory 93, and his rising Arcane Music imprint.
The four-track EP wastes no time living up to its namesake, with the title track “Deep Down” careening us into a jet-black and enthralling techno hole (the track has become a go-to weapon for Beyer and the Drumcode family). Following is “Nazareth,” with acid lines aplenty, and Brown pays homage to Detroit with “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” — letting some light in with a more soulful take on the genre. The EP ends with “Pressure,” a gritty and high-voltage tune with a swirling vocal hook and powerful chords. Listen below.
“Adam’s always been a big supporter of mine and we’ve been discussing working towards a Drumcode EP for some time, and right now feels like a great time for me to be releasing on the label,” says Brown. “When approaching an EP, I like to create a load of tracks, road test them and pick the best ones. Both Adam and I have been playing these tracks heavily over the past six months and they have featured in some of Adam’s recent sets from the likes of Ultra Miami, Awakenings and EDC Festival to name a few. I’m really happy with how it came together and I really hope you enjoy my debut EP on Drumcode.”
