With over 1,900 remix submissions, Tiësto and the teams over at Atlantic Records, Musical Freedom, SPINNIN’ Records, and Beatport have selected the top four tracks from the challenge.
Following the success of last 2021’s Global Remix Challenge for Tiësto’s “The Business Pt I + II (feat. Ty Dolla $ign),” Beatport, LabelRadar, Loopcloud, and Atlantic Records reunited with the Dutch dance music superstar back in March of this year to present yet another heavy-duty remix competition, this time for his latest hit with Ava Max, “The Motto.”
With a $10,000 grand prize package on the line, including track support from Tiesto, an official release on Atlantic Records, a pair of Genelec 8341A Studio Monitors, and tons of other great prizes from our gear partners like Antares, Arturia, Reason Studios, SSL, Akai, Excite Audio, and SoundCloud, this year’s contest saw a total of 1,918 remix submissions from producers around the globe.
After sorting through all the tracks, Tiësto and the various label teams from Atlantic, Musical Freedom, and SPINNIN’ RECORDS have selected the grand prize winner and the top-three runner-up remixes. Meet our winners and check out their tracks below!
Grand Prize Winner: Robert Georgescu & White
Congratulations to Romanian duo Robert Georgescu & White for taking home the grand prize for the Tiësto remix contest! Their winning track will be released via Atlantic Records later this year.
Hailing from the cities of Saint George and Brasov in Romania, respectively, Robert Georgescu and White (real name Nagy Szabolcs) have been DJing and producing electronic music for decades. Their 12-year-long friendship had seen the pair working on many various projects together before deciding to come together and form their house music duo two years ago. We spoke to Robert Georgescu and White to learn more about their winning remix and what comes next for them.
Congratulations on winning the contest! How do you feel? Have you had a chance to celebrate?
Thanks a lot! We celebrated our victory in the studio. That’s our style. The joy of winning boosts our motivation and gives us new opportunities for people to enjoy our music!
How did you approach the production process for your winning remix? Did you use any special gear or sample packs?
We’ve had a classic way of making music for years. We didn’t use anything special for this one, just the gear at our disposal.
Following the track’s release on Atlantic Records, what can people expect to hear next from Robert Georgescu & White?
The Robert Georgescu and White project pushes out a remix or song on our YouTube channel every Friday. We have many tracks and remixes prepared for later this year and beyond!
