Kerri Chandler Announces First Album in 14 Years, ‘Spaces and Places’

The house music icon’s new album was recorded, written, and performed on location at 24 of the world’s most iconic nightclubs.

House music’s King Kerri Chandler has announced the first details of his first full-length album in nearly 14 years, Spaces and Places — set to drop via his Kaos Theory label in October of 2022.

Touted as a “global celebration of club and sound system culture,” Chandler’s forthcoming 24-track LP has been in the works for several years. Each track was meticulously crafted on location at 24 of the most prominent dance music venues worldwide: the UK’s Sub Club, Printworks, and Ministry of Sound, to Barcelona’s Razzmatazz, NYC’s Output, Berlin’s Club Qu, and beyond, each track aims to illicit Kerri’s personal relationship with each dance floor.

The first taste of this unique autobiographical house music tribute will arrive on May 6th via a four-track album sampler. Check it out below.

Speaking on his ambitious new album and the work that went into it, Kerri Chandler said: “Each sound system is unique to each venue, even if it’s the same type of gear, because of the physical space. And when you add the right audience to that specific nightclub, it comes to life! The club owners and engineers were gracious enough to let me take over each club and turn each venue, into a recording studio. I wanted to express the love of what could be possible in capturing my productions in the venue, from the heart of each space, right on the dance floor, and I translate it onto this album, which I created over the course of four years and 24 venues later.”
