Our expert curation team brings you the best Dubstep tracks on Beatport you may have missed. This time featuring Ohmie, Sharks, Akeos, Jessica Audiffred, and more.
Ohmie – Faceless [Reinelex Music]
In the 2.5 years I’ve curated dubstep for Beatport, I’ve consistently been impressed by a producer named Ohmie. This young Finnish producer has been hard at work in the studio for years at this point, and each production demonstrates Ohmie’s continuous improvement as a songwriter and producer. Out now via Reinelex Music, “Faceless” is yet another showcase of Ohmie’s unmatched signature style. Seriously, there’s nobody else who sounds like this on the store, and probably in the entire world.
Sharks – In My Eyes [Pilot.]
I can’t get enough of beaming melodies paired with thunderous bass, and the latest from Sharks ticks all the boxes. This time on the fledgling Pilot. imprint, Sharks offers up the heavy yet divine “In My Eyes” to add some oomph to your feels. Beyond those euphoric melodies, Sharks flexes his sound design chops with expertly crafted basses through a kaleidoscopic lens. What’s more, deep dubstep enthusiasts will find their own space in this tune with its dreamy concluding break — a perfect end to a gem of a track.
Akeos – Void Virus [Never Say Die Records]
I will scream it from the rooftops until the end of time: Akeos is truly one of the greatest producers of our generation. I’ve raved about her music on Beatportal before, and I’m ready to do it again: Never Say Die just dropped Akeos’ latest EP featuring four genre-bending tunes. I’m highlighting “Void Virus” because it’s made up of Akeos’ signature sound we all fell in love with back when she was a newcomer to the scene. Next-level sound design, fine-tuned distortion, and a naughty flow are the main components to this track — an audiophile’s dream.
Jessica Audiffred, Chassi, BLUPILL – Cold Case [DPMO]
It’s been incredible to see the rise of Jessica Audiffred, recognized as one of the leading women in today’s dubstep scene. Released through FuntCase’s DPMO imprint, Jessica teams up with BLUPILL and Chassi for “Cold Case,” a rough and tough dubstep squealer made for tearing it up on the dance floor. Screeching basses dance through the speakers as this track’s rumbling bass shakes listeners to their core… this one’s a keeper in your DJ arsenal.
Definitive – Demons [Indefinite Recordings]
If you’re into the OG riddim sound, you’ll fawn over Definitive’s smashing, nostalgia-inducing single via Indefinite Recordings. On “Demons,” Definitive calls upon bass music trends of years past and fashions them into a totally new sound, taking listeners on a thrilling, unexpected ride. What’s more, this tune will both satisfy the needs of any devoted headbanger and pique the interest of connoisseurs alike.
Kaidro – Collide (feat. AXYL) [Rude Service]
When I pressed play on Kaidro’s “Collide” featuring AXYL, I was immediately smitten. Bear Grillz’s new imprint Rude Service is a budding home to heavy bass artists, so it was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon this gorgeous melodic dubstep anthem. I’m fixated on that stabbing synth melody at the drop; it totally reminds me of old-school trance synths and rave stabs packed neatly into a feel-good dream of a tune.
Riot – Down With Your Love (SIPPY Remix) [Gud Vibrations]
When I discovered SIPPY at Lost Lands in 2018, I knew she was destined for stardom. Since her move to Los Angeles from Australia, SIPPY has put out a plethora of heaters on multiple dance music imprints — right now, I’m loving her remix of Riot’s “Down With Your Love” via Gud Vibrations. Packed with high energy and her unique manipulation of sound, SIPPY transforms the original tune into a festival-ready bass anthem capable of hyping up a sea of fans. Throw this one in your set if you want to serve up a curveball to your audience; they’ll be dancing.
