Hey hey, J. Worra here! I am currently on tour so this playlist is a sneak peek at what I have been rinsing out. What I love most about DJing is that there are no boundaries. It is a beautiful thing to be able to take listeners on a journey through musical time and also genres/sub-genres of house and techno. I feel lucky that I was able to start my musical career in Chicago, where I had access to legendary artists, clubs, and a scene that thrives on equality, love, and the music. I have always been really inspired by early 2000s house and techno: to me, it feels like the golden age and I am always in search of nostalgia that I can build into my releases and sets.

J. Worra – Lose My Mind (feat. Taylor Moody) [D4 D4NCE]

I was listening to a lot of 2010ish Dave Spoon records when I was making this song. For those unfamiliar with Taylor Moody, she is an incredible singer, songwriter, and vocalist, who is actually classically trained in Opera! It was amazing to be able to work with her for a second time and we are both so proud of this one!

Miane – Don’t Wanna Lie [Black Book Records]

Miane feels like such a unique artist and I love how she is able to harness this dark groove and bass, tied together with lush vocals. I see huge things in her future and for those in the states now is your chance to see her play as she has several US tour dates on the calendar. 

Kryptogram – Woman Like You (Sorley Remix) [Undisputed Music]

I am obsessed with this remix. The vocals are so infectious and the bass line absolutely slaps. I have had this one in my sets for a few months and still not tired of it. Sorley, you are a legend!

Kristin Velvet – The Undertaker [Arms & Legs]

This bouncy tech house gem is everything that is right in the world. Love the old school type spoken-word vocal and the driving groove that keeps this one chugging along. When I first heard this song it stopped me in my tracks because it sounds like an old school Chicago house record. This is another one that will be in my rotation until further notice!

Tita Lau – The Sequel [STEROHYPE]

Tita Lau is a BEAST. I have been loving all of her releases but this one, in particular, is one of the best peak time tracks in my crate. I will play this one start to finish because it is so effectively arranged and I usually see a few faces melt on the last drop. 

LP Giobbi, Bklava – Sinner [D4 D4NCE]

I really love the plucky bass line on this one and its all-around feel-good vibes. It’s amazing to see LP continue on with her tear and create her own lane. 

Fiorious – I’m Not Defeated, Pt. II (Honey Dijon’s Fiercely Furious Dub) [Glitterbox Recordings]

HONEY MF DIJON!! She has got to be one of my favorite all-around artists and I have so much respect for the path she’s cleared for the LGBTQ+ community. I love closing my sets with this one. It has the best message for people to latch onto… “fallen down, still I climb, I am not defeated.” Those are some words to live by. 

Anna Lunoe – Double Dip [NLV Records]

I have always looked up to Anna. When I moved from Chicago to LA she was one of the first artists I was able to catch live. I hadn’t seen a ton of women own the decks and the crowd like her and it was so inspiring. This track has such a sick bassline and I love the vocals she recorded on here. Issa hit!

Black V Neck – I Want It [Confession]

Not one set of mine goes by without a few Black V Neck tracks in there. These guys have some serious skills and are really unique. I am a big fan of their booming kicks and peak-time releases. Whenever I play this one out both myself and the crowd absolutely lose it!

Jess Bays – Temptation (feat. Poppy Baskcomb) [Good Company]

Jess Bays has some serious heater releases. The vocal on this one is silky smooth and her production around it really just feels good. The bass line gives me an old school Gorgon City feel but with her own little flair on it and the arrangement flows so nicely. Shout out to Jess Bays for the beautiful music!
