Augustin Giri – Human Touch [Surrealism]
Argentinian’s Agustin Giri has a continuously great output, one of the artists to watch out for. Human Touch is out on Surrealism, the label from EdOne. It’s edgy, it’s playful, it will get the hands up and the heads turning. Human Touch is what everyone is longing for in a time of the pandemic when you’ve been isolating yourself at home. A strong bass drum gives introduction to the catchy arpeggiators and the edgy rhythm. Also don’t miss the remix from Joone and EdOne.
Argia – Black Paloma [KULTO]
Madrid based Argia is back with “Black Paloma” who’s arpeggiator gets you in a hypnotic state, the drums make your body move and the pads put your mind at ease. If you’re ever in Madrid go and check out her residency at Mondo Disko.
Murat Uncuoglu – Shadow Play [ISOLATE]
ISOLATE, the label from Murat and Alican from Istanbul, has been around for nearly four years. Murat delivers another strong release with the Between Words EP. Shadow Play is very playful and trippy for the late night sets or early mornings to keep the crowd going.
Cenk – Calling U Alternative Version [OMENI]
Classically trained opera singer Cenk brings a fresh wind into the melodic scene with his vocals with his first release on OMENI, the label from Rancido. The track keeps the tension for the early morning hours, floating through the dancefloor. Subtle grooves with beautiful harmonies fade into a piano break with the opera vocal that invites the listener to a more intimate state.
Blindsmyth – All That Fiberglass [Connaisseur Recordings]
Simon Schmidt aka Blindsmyth attracted attention with his debut album Blind in 2018. The sounds remind of the aesthetic from Artists like Kiasmos, DJ Koze, Moderat and Bonobo. “All That Fiberglass” comes four year later with a warm analogue feel, mixed with field recordings, vocoder vocals and more hardware.
Oliver Henry – Exit Points – [Apex Faction]
The Sydney-based producer Oliver Henry offers up a timeless track with a strong UK touch that sounds like it could be out on a major label and the sound track of the summer that include long car rides with friends on summer break and surviving. You can hear Oliver’s classically trained production aesthetic on Alan Fitzpatrick’s new Apex Faction imprint. Oliver presents a delicate and restrained approach to his productions and pulls on the heartstrings and tempts our nostalgia. Tight drum productions and immersive sound designs shimmer over Oliver’s underlying chord progressions in each track. Forming the underlying layer with an engaging texture; prepared pianos play tantalizing progressions over varying, beautifully crafted drum grooves.
