Our expert curation team brings you the best tracks on Beatport you may have missed. This time featuring DJ Hazard, Inja, Enei, Alix Perez, and more.
DJ Hazard – Stranger Danger [Hazardous Material]
DJ Hazard gave us all a Christmas gift at the end of 2021 with his new two-track EP, released on 25th December. A-side “Stranger Danger” is a huge roller in Hazard’s trademark style.
Inja – Broken! [Inja Music]
MCs can often be overlooked in the D&B scene, but as ever Inja is here to remind us of the importance of MCs with his new label Inja Music, following on from his previous releases with the likes of Hospital, Gossip, and V Recordings. “Broken” is the second single from the label, and we can’t wait to hear more.
Enei – The Greatest Trick [Critical Music]
It’s only January, but we’d already put money on this being one of the biggest D&B tracks of the year. Kicking off proceedings for Critical Music’s 20th anniversary year is label mainstay Enei with “The Greatest Trick,” featuring a signature rise, vocal sample and heavyweight bass that we’ve come to love from Enei.
Alix Perez, DLR, sp:mc – Keep Up [1985 Music]
Another big link-up on 1985 Music, with Alix Perez and DLR joining forces with sp:mc for a minimal and groovy roller. “Keep Up” showcases all the best elements we’ve come to expect from 1985 Music — this one’s a future classic for sure.
Levela, Eksman – Zone Out [LVL Music]
Released on his own label LVL Music, Levela teams up with Eksman for one of our favourite D&B tracks of January, combining an intense siren, a deep bassline, and a skippy, jungle-inspired beat.
Disphonia – Snapshot [Hanzom Music]
German label Hanzom Music started the year off with a massive neuro banger with Disphonia’s “Snapshot.” A dark, ominous intro leads into a huge drop breaking into epic arpeggios, making this one of our favourite releases on Hanzom yet.
Gremlinz & Jesta – Albatross [UVB-76]
You can always rely on UVB-76 to deliver atmospheric D&B groovers, and there are few artists who do it as well as Toronto’s Gremlinz and Jesta. Frantic percussion and discordant synths combine on “Albatross” for a weighty, clinical collaboration.
