The origins of Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. Celts believed that on the night of October 31st, the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, allowing spirits to roam freely. To ward off these spirits, people lit bonfires and wore costumes made of animal skins. Halloween Unmuted gives voice to these rituals, combining the celebration of costumes, candy, and scary fun with the less demonic side (parties, music and plenty of party favors). Along with this evolution, Halloween propelled DJ culture into the forefront of these modern celebrations, equally important as gathering friends and designing clever costumes.
This creativity carries over into more than just costumes, with Loopcloud partnering up with Beatport, Beatsource, and LabelRadar to introduce the Halloween Unmuted Producer Contest.
By downloading the haunted sound packs and building original songs from them, producers can unlock prizes worth $1000s of dollars and get access to incredible tools and services from The Beatport Group, and get your track shared with thousands of DJs across the globe.
Featuring sounds from the underworld of demons and devils, Halloween celebrations might never be the same again. All that is required to participate is to download the complimentary pack from LabelRadar’s contest page and submit your track before October 20th at 11:59pm PST.
