Last month, Beatport introduced a new store destination for one of electronic music’s most raw, electrifying, and pioneering sound: electro. 

With its aggressive arpeggios, robotic melodies, 808 drums, and unmistakable flair, classic and modern Electro has hit a global resurgence over the past several years. The sound originated in cities like Detroit during the ’90s thanks to acts like, Cybotron, Model 500, and Drexciya.  And Beatport hopes to pay homage to this essential component of electronic music with its new store spotlight.

To help commemorate the launch, we’re hosting a special Selects livestream, featuring an international cast of some of Electro’s most essential players.

Kicking off at 6 PM PST // 3 AM CET on Monday, January 25th, the Electro Selects Livestream will see performances from genre pioneer The Hacker, machine mystic Alienata, a special B2B with Mor Elian and Roza Terenzi, a hybrid electro set from Anthony Rother, and more.
