The alt-rock legend reveals The Glitz; The Glamour – Remixes — a 20-track remix album of his solo work that features some of electronic music’s biggest names.
Perry Farrell — revered frontman for rock groups like Jane’s Addiction, Porno for Pyros, Satellite Party, and founder of Lollapalooza festival — has tapped a list of dance music giants to help remix his 35-year solo-career retrospective LP, The Glitz; The Glamour.
Putting their spin on classic Perry hits such as “Let’s All Pray For This World” and “Pirate Punk Politician,” artists like Maceo Plex, UNKLE, Solomun, Groove Armada, Francois K, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Booka Shade, Guy Gerber, Moscoman, and more have all participated in reinterpreting Farrell’s famous songwriting and turning his tracks into electrifying dance floor bangers. The Glitz; The Glamour – Remixes is not only an ode to Perry’s impressive career but also an ode to his ever-growing musical diversity.
In a statement about the remix album, Perry Farrell said: “In 1991 I was in London performing with my band Jane’s Addiction. At that time, I was introduced to the modern sounds of house music. Developing a tremendous passion for the sound and contributing to the culture. May our eyes meet on the dance floor.”
