Honeydrip Beatport

HONEYDRIP

This October, Canadian DJ and producer Honeydrip released her Psychotropical EP on Banoffee Pie Records. The 7 track project features regular collaborators King Shadrock, Ouri and Shanique Marie, with bass/club royalty Hassan Abou Alam and La Dame on the remixes. The EP does exactly what it says on the tin, gliding through bass-heavy cuts, exotic melodies and balearic vibes. It’s slow-moving and energising, with new details and intricacies emerging on every listen. The EP follows a series of hard-hitting releases from the artist on Collection Disques Durs and Early Reflex, and follows a slew of mind-blowing summer sets at MUTEK Montreal, HÖR Berlin and Dreamsonic in Bern. Her creative blend of bass, jungle, electro and left-field techno is a true breath of fresh air and a unique listening experience.

Ryan Clover Beatport

RYAN CLOVER

Brooklyn-based Ryan Clover makes his debut on Eris Drew’s Ecstatic Editions this month with his My Light, My World EP. The four-track project kicks off with “We Love, (We Feel),” a slow-building, euphoric house track that’s both deeply emotive yet dance-floor ready. The title track is a fast-moving, heavy-grooving tune with beautiful builds, ethereal drops and soaring saxophone. Ryan Clover has built a name for himself as one of dance music’s most revered producers, combining jazz elements with club music filled to the brim with feeling. The HOMAGE co-founder has already released on ARTS, Kneaded Pains, fabric, Fantastic Voyage and more, and with support from Octo Octa, Peach, Club Fitness, TSHA, Ewan McVicar, KETTAMA and Skream, there’s so much more to come from the artist.

DESNA

Live artist and Frequency Made Music label founder DESNA releases Spiritual Warfare on her own imprint. The artist explores healing frequencies in her music, and this project is no different. The tracks aim to “shed light on spiritual bodies and provide both awareness and nourishment for the soul,” with each production built around a certain Hz designed to maximise good vibrations in the nervous system. “Spiritual Warfare 528 Hz” combines mesmerising female vocals with crisp percussion, while “Affirmations 444 Hz” aims to empower and heal. Since the DESNA project launched in 2016, she has released on LW Recordings, Red Rum Music and Kuukou records, and performed electrifying sets all around the world.

Yaw Appiah Beatport

YAW APPIAH

California-based Yaw Appiah blends his African heritage with infectious vibrations. Hailing from Ghana, Yaw aims to introduce African genres into the global psyche, creating house music infused with traditional percussion, rhythms and vocals. The result is a unique and infectious production style that appeals to the international community while paying homage to Yaw’s home continent. His releases have earned support and acclaim from Black Coffee, Themba, Desiree, Leo Guardo, Bun Xapa, and many more. His latest EP Bekezela on Alema Music Group in collaboration with Larion is an enthralling listen, full of unexpected chops and changes alongside captivating vocals from Zizo.

Sherm Beatport

SHERM

Since Chicago-based artist Sherm released his first track in 2014, he’s been on a relentless mission to create and innovate. He does this through his podcast series Sherm in the Booth, his iconic live performances, moderating ADE panels and through his contagious tech house productions, best listened to alongside pyrotechnics and flashing LED screens. His music has won support from Dmitri Vegas, Like Mike, John Summit and DJ Susan, and he’ll be performing at the Hood Politics x Bring The Kingdom (sub-label of Hexagon) showcase at ADE this month. One of his latest releases, “Madonna,” in collaboration with Pods on Hood Politics Records, is a straight-up heater, and has been tried and tested at festivals across the world.

Cohn Beatport

COHN

Tel-Aviv-based, London-born Cohn releases his long-awaited third EP on Mister T. Records. The house music connoisseur has previously released on Nervous, Kitsune and Bunkaball, winning fans all over the world with his fresh house cuts. His latest EP, Wine and Reason, sits somewhere between indie dark disco and Balearic house, combining dance floor nostalgia with pulsating energy to create a cathartic blend of cutting edge house music. All three tracks are a deep dive into ’80s-inspired sounds and intricate percussion, seamlessly fusing dark basslines with Italo House. And the best bit is, he’s only just getting started – there’s a whole lot more to come.
